Former FL State Rep & Aide Arrested on Theft and Fraud Charges by PEP

The roots of this arrest and accompanying scandal go deep. The aide involved is the son and nephew of long-time power brokers in Orlando, FL.


For the Republicans especially, this has to be bad news. Ex-Rep. Sherri McInvale switched from the Democratic Party to the Republicans; then was defeated at the polls.

Former state Rep. Sheri McInvale and her ex-legislative aide Robert Franklin Stuart Jr. were arrested this morning after an Orange County grand jury indicted them on misconduct and theft charges.

Orange-Osceola State Attorney investigators picked McInvale up at her home and booked her in the Orange County Jail at 11:30 a.m. It's unclear when Stuart was taken into custody, but he is being booked in the jail.

They are accused of official misconduct, grand theft, cheating and falsifying records.
