A former top Bush admin. official confirms that the White House wants to start war with Iran.

Raw Story:

Hillary Mann is the former National Security Council Director for Iranian and Persian Gulf Affairs. She warned in [a CNN] interview that the recent flare up between Iran and the US over the former's alleged assistance to Shi'a militias results from a US desire to provoke conflict with the Iranians.

"They're trying to push a provocative, accidental conflict," Mann said.

She added that the administration hopes to goad Iran into an overreaction so that it can have justification to carry out "limited strikes" against nuclear infrastructure and Revolutionary Guards headquarters buildings in Iran.

Nothing about this is surprising. Not that the administration wants war with the country smack in between Iraq and Afghanistan, not that they're trying to circumvent congress to do it (by provoking an attack to respond to), and certainly not that Mann's a former Bush official. Being a truthteller isn't something that's going to get you very far in this
administration.
