GREELEY, Colo. -- A former University of Northern Colorado football punter accused of stabbing the starting kicker last fall was due back in court Friday. Mitch Cozad, 21, faces charges including attempted first-degree murder. His preliminary hearing was scheduled Friday in Greeley. Starting punter Rafael Mendoza was stabbed in his kicking leg outside his apartment in Evans in September. The case brought world-wide media attention to the university.
