Found dog!

I was walking home from work a few months ago (on one of the rare evenings it actually didn’t rain!) and I spotted a collie in the middle of the road.  Luckily it was a rather quiet residential road so there wasn’t a lot of traffic.  I called the dog towards me to get it from out of the road and tried to look around for its owner.  With no one around I walked home and the dog followed me.  I looked on the dogs collar and called the telephone number but the line went dead. I decided to call the police but they could not take the dog so I ended up taking it to the local vet where they kept the dog in overnight.  In the morning I called the vet to see how the dog was getting on.  The owners had called that morning to see if the vet had seen him.  It turns out the family had just moved over from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Germany and when the dog got out of their garden it obviously could not find its way home.  The number on the collar did not work as it was their German mobile.  The family were very grateful to me for the safe return of their dog.  I recently read a story about a new gadget called a petbuddi.  It  can locate your dog from a mobile phone so you can track it wherever you are. It sounds like something that every dog owner should have.  The upset that the family felt when realizing their dog was missing in a new country could have been avoided.  I know if I ever get a dog I will certainly get one of these for my piece of mind.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
