A recent burst of volatile weather has seen several freak hailstorms hit places as far from each other as Toronto and Texas. The storms have commonly been short and fierce, and some have had hailstones as large as baseballs. Weird weather season is here, kids; brace yourselves.

Hot and humid conditions over southern Ontario are favourable for thunderstorms to develop. Some of these thunderstorms are capable to produce torrential downpours and large hail. These severe thunderstorms will be isolated. Many locales even within the watch area will not be affected.
Portions of East El Paso also got hammered by hail for 15 to 20 minutes.

"They were about marble size I guess," said Louis Smith.

WAUSAU, Wis. , Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes tore through the
Upper Midwest, damaging homes and a resort, producing baseball-size
hail and dropping more than 6 inches of rain in some areas.
Hail stones the size of golf balls hammered Amonate, said resident Glen Cregar, 62.

“It
demolished all of our gardens. Trees were down, and we were out of
power till 6:30 this morning,” Cregar said Wednesday. “It beat our cars
up. They’re full of dings. And I had a garden. It was beautiful.
