Boiling hot temperatures and stagnant air in the Bay area have triggered a fifth 'Spare the Air' day, with 26 transit agencies providing free rides to inhabitants.  The area has used up so much cash in the four Spare the Air days of the heat wave so far that it only has budget for one more day in the rest of the summer season.
