Many fear that Nicolas Sarkozy's elections will steer France down an ultra-conservative road, angering those who feel that they are about to become disenfranchized. More than 3000 riot police had been dispatched in prepartation for such an event.

The "Liberal Peace Party" Gotta love all that Flowers in the gun barrels stuff, but when the reality of it hits that they didn't get their way,  they manage to grow gonads and  break things and hurt people.

Sounds like a military, breaking things and hurting people.

 Just Hypocrites on a rampage.

Why is it that you can't fight and burn and threaten terrorist/countries yet if your a "Socialist/Liberal" it's OK to threaten innocent vehicle owners and shop keepers and police and civilians with bodily harm and potential death?

Thank you (Socialist/Liberals in France) for showing your true colors, we now see that it's not violence that you hate, it's failure to gain power.  Now that you can participate in violence and not offend your tender feelings, you can help stop the Muslim murderers around the world, instead of hiding behind some phony sense of being superior and magnanimous.

The Liberals weren't actually IN power (nobody would mistake Jacques Chirac for a leftie)...

OK, if you say so,  Ask me and I'd say the guy who won is Liberal. I was speaking in terms of relative Socialist Liberal Qualities.

Anyways, The Woman who was the "Socialist/Liberal" candidate lost(she's nearer communist than republican). She lost and therefore the Socialist/Liberals lost out on power. Her Ilk were the ones rioting, hell she practically called for the riots.

Just a few weeks ago, Miss peace and love suggested that if she lost that there would be riots. I sincerly doubt that it was the winning party to the right of her that was supposed to riot.

I changed the wording on the Socialist/lefties loosing power, to them not gaining power.

Thanks for helping me out, I'm hoping that the change in the previous comment makes it more clear to anyone else reading it.

I copied this ->

"Street violence took some of the shine off victory in the French elections for new president Nicolas Sarkozy.

Far-left activists had running battles with police across France as
270 people were taken in for questioning and 367 parked vehicles were
torched"

Hi ! i will post the story here...I don't know what my brother done with my computer this evening but it was the big mess when i rego home...and lot of difficulty to send flickr email... [and if you want to post another thread for this new night of riot (7 may 2007) and fight i've got photos too and a crazy story ;) So yesterday (sunday 6 may 2007 day of election): we all know that Nicolas Sarkozy will win the elections and so he wins (logical, his challenger Segolene Royal said during the run most stupidity that a drunk man) at 8 pm the TV said he won (so big yell and cry)...after that a punk go on a hight level point and say to the floor: time to resitance...

so lot of people go to the place of the Bastille blocking the cars (obviously cops and riotpolicemen were here too but don't move bcz at this time there is no problem)...they yell, paint on the wall, cries...

some time after they begin to burn a false doll of Sarkosy...it begin to be more hot but no problem too.....

the big problem begins bcz the stupid policeman chief who have to check the area forgot to remove big building stones....at maybe 10 pm anarchist begins to break them in small stones (more usable to throw) and to throw on the cops...here i begin to took interesting photos.

they throw and throw...so cops done a first charge and fight....and fire gaz grenade all in the place (in this fight i was gazed and took some hits in arm/leg) so people go in running everywhere...whith the gaz everybody begins crazy, try to attacks the cops, burn one car of subway security (i took photo here...all the area was hot) and after try to burn a big art shop...but didn't do it...

at this time police regazed (in fact they don't stop...) but at this time it rained grenades !!! incredible show to see, a little fearing :)

and i begin to think time to go house, i took some other photo of people attacking cops, and after go home (during the return i see begining of street fencing and thief - lot of them like shit flies - so i hide my stuff and stop following the movement)

Riot day n°2

there was a rassemblement in the Bastille like the others days (population: redskinheads, anarchists and youth of suburbs going here for destroying and stoling...)...and it begins directly with violence and destruction: they go to one street, and destroy all in the street ! After some time we loose them - difficult to run with a big camera and flash on hands, and a bag full of lens on the back, when the others run barehands...and we (we were 3 photographes) were all smokers so difficult too :)

we hunt them in the streets of Paris (and we're not alone: there was most cops than i know there is in Paris, civil cop cars, one or two chopter (helicopter),...nobody knows where they are)...we after learn that in fact redskins and anarchist stop to run and go hide when they see the others are here for destroying and stoling...

at the end everybody was in the Bastille for regroupement, and there was a lot of arrestation

Riot day n°4

This time the place change: the 9 may there is each years a Neonazi/far right movement who go to the street for remebering the death of one of their member - they said killed by cops - and each time there was an antifaschist movements...but this year this second movement is forbidden and so the protest being illegal.

Antifa regroups place Saint Michel (Quartier Latin), and begins to go to the far right group (we go here too first, but they tell us: if we caught you we will broke your face and camera...so we go out quickly)...but they were quickly being took between two line of riotpolicemen...who arrest all the people in the street. By luck when one arrest me i was quickly release (he just tell me: go out or i will beaten you).

I didn't have post yet the photo, but soon.
