The sunrises seem brighter and the mood is jauntier in this rural village of 2,900 -- ever since ethanol, dreams of American energy independence and an economic shot in the arm came to town.

All I can say is - they better not be replacing gas with some environmentally-almost-as-bad alternative. That would be the icing on the cake!

Until they can make it more energy efficient to convert from corn to ethanol its not going to be a decent alternative.
The interest is helping the farmers and the communities around the new ethanol plants though.
