Sailing to and from the island just got more costly following B.C Ferry Services' decision to implement a fuel surcharge on all routes this week.

"What can you do when it comes to the price of fuel?"  asked Bruce Patterson, a Salt Spring Island Ferry Advisory Committee member. "Everyone who drives a car or owns a furnace has probably realized the past year has been trying."
