A couple of failed car-bombs failed to defuse the Gay Pride parade, as celebrants, activists and onlookers flocked to Baker Street to take part.

Thousands of people have marched through the streets of central London for the annual Gay Pride festival.

Despite the rain, participants of the Pride London event walked from Baker Street to Trafalgar Square.

The march was followed by entertainment in the square which will continue till 2000 BST. Presenters include TV host Graham Norton and actor John Barrowman.

The event's organisers said despite Friday's bomb alerts, the parade would go ahead as normal.

John Barrowman, mentioned above, is  the openly-gay actor who portrays the pan-sexual Jack Harkness in Doctor Who and its spinoff, Torchwood.
