Geffen Makes $2 Billion Bid for 'L.A. Times' -- And Other Tribune News

NEW YORK David Geffen, the Hollywood/music
mogul, has made a $2 billion "all-cash" offer to the Tribune Co. for
his hometown Los Angeles Times, but the corporate owner has declined to
accept or reject the bid as it continues to seek offers for the entire
company, James Rainey reports today in the paper.
