Gestatten, Knut!

Berlin's polar bear cub making his first public appearance today. A celebrity since birth in bear-crazy Berlin, Knut, who was abandoned by his mother and lost his twin brother, made headlines a few days ago when an animal rights activist told a tabloid the cub should be euthanized since hand-raised bears never grow up into "real" ones. Now that is official Knut will live Berliners will turn out in their thousands to welcome their hero at the Berlin Zoo. Welcome Knut!
