UPDATE: October 19, 2006
Margie, age 76, was ordered to pay a $543 fine. The judge refused to let her make a statement. She says she will not pay the fine, & will therefore go to jail. The local newspaper, recently acquired by some huge chain, is reporting none of this story, but has published an editorial written by its editors opposing a city resolution to bring American troops home - the resolution passed.
If any reader knows how to reach Cindy Sheehan, or any celebrity who could help give this national attention, please contact that person & contact me asap.
Thanks.
