AIDS patients have been reporting that their meds are getting stolen, and that the thieves are mixing it with marijuana to get (even) high(er).
Thugs in a KwaZulu-Natal community are robbing people living with HIV/Aids of their antiretroviral (ARV) drugs -- and then smoking them to get high, the Saturday Star reported.Patients collecting their ARVs at St Mary's Hospital outside Pinetown have complained to community outreach coordinators that criminals are stealing their Stocrin, a commonly-used ARV, and smoking it.
They reportedly mix it with dagga and smoke it.
"People of all ages are stealing it from patients and smoking it together with dagga," the newspaper quoted community worker Nancy Sias as saying.
She first heard of the thefts in January, but was not aware of it happening on a large scale.
First of all, stealing meds from AIDS patients has to be a new low(if I
may editorialize). Second, KwaZulu-Natal is home to Durban Poison, one
of the most potent strains of marijuana in the world, or so I'm told: why would anybody
want to cut it with anything?

It's good stuff. Most people who work with addictive programmes say that when depression hits many people who turn to drug use to cope, they are basically also going for suicide but slowly. With HIV/AIDS ravaging Africa, it is not surprising to me that there are folks living entirely on fumes that will not only steal needed meds, but willing to use these meds combined with powerful marijuana to zone out and accept what they must feel is a their destiny. They are just trying to go out on a good note.

That vacuumed shaped hole in there soul reguardless of circumstance is intended to be filled by God. He created a need for us to be fullfilled through him. I understand psychologically why people fall into rutts or they are oppressed on them ,however I wanna go out Really in Peace not just high. God love them the same......
