We reported this story back in October and it is once again in the headlines, but this it's not being reported or it's trendyness, but rather because two people have died "ghost-riding the whip."
Millions of us choose to spend our free time on the net. With more
and more websites popping up to entertain us and plug us into different
sub-cultures, it's no wonder that this latest trend is creating
controversy.
Ghost riding is a close cousin of car surfing.
It involves stepping out of a vehicle while it is moving and dancing
either outside or on top of the vehicle. The car, usually shifted to
neutral, continues to move forward while the driver and passengers
dance. The trend is attributed to the Hyphy movement, a style of music
and dance associated with San Francisco hip hop culture, and rappers
such as E-40, whose song Tell Me When to Go is seen as a ghost-ride anthem.
