Giant squid washed up on beach

Jul. 13 - Scientists in Australia are examining a giant squid that washed up on Tasmania's west coast.

The
squid was found on Ocean Beach, near Strahan, on the western coast of
the island state of Tasmania. The squid's main body measured
seven-metres long. Scientists hope to find out more about the species
by examining the rare specimen although its not clear yet how it died.

Michelle Carlile-Alkhouri reports.
