June 15, 2007 Virginia - A family of three escaped from a Suffolk house fire early this morning because an 11-year-old girl saw the fire in her bedroom and alerted her grandmother and another relative. Suffolk Fire Department spokesman Capt. Jim Judkins said the fire started around 4:30 a.m. at the house on Lake Kennedy Drive. He said investigators determined that the fire started with a lit candle in a wall sconce in the girl's bedroom. Judkins said the girl awoke and realized her bed was on fire ...
