Give dope-cheats four-year ban: athletics chief (AFP)

GOTHENBURG, Sweden (AFP) - International athletics chief Lamine Diack has called for stiffer first-time sentences to be handed down to athletes found guilty of doping offences. The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) president said Sunday athletes caught doping should now be hit with a four-year ban instead of a two-year ban in order to serve as a deterrent to other potential dope-cheats.
