After a month off from devotionals by Greg Laurie, TheScroogeReport once again posts the weekend messages by the founder of Harvest Crusades.

"God with Skin On" reflects the same simple message of Christ's love that Laurie has been preaching and writing about for more than 30 years.

I heard about a little boy who was frightened one night during a great thunderstorm. He called out to his father from his bedroom and said, “Daddy, I’m scared. Come in here.”

His dad, who had settled in for the night and wanted to go to sleep, told the little boy, “Son, it’s all right. God is with you in that room right now. You’re OK.”

There was a moment of silence. Then the little boy shot back, “Dad, right now I need someone with skin on.”

TheBigRuski, I enjoyed this. And thanks for slotting it into "Press Releases." I've just suggested to denseatoms that a thread be started on potential additional categories for things that aren't quite news, aren't quite opinions, etc. Your choice of "press releases" for this was a very good one in the current system. If NP ever adds another section for what I'll call "musings" (like denseatom's piece on misquotes), would it be appropriate to add a section for religion? Many newspapers have such a section.

Definitely something we could discuss in the Forums section.

Thank you! I tagged it Press Release because it was a (promotional) announcement for my site, TheScroogeReport. As far as a new section, I suggest Religion or Faith, but my definite preferance would be a "Faith" section.
