Gonu Damage in Muscat- Al Ghobrah after the Flash Flood

As Gonu began, the dam at Al Ansab higher in the hills behind Al Ghobrah burst.  At about four in the afternoon of the 5th as the cyclone was right over Muscat, residents of Al Ghobnra near the Indian School Al Ghobrah and the Shanfari villa complex found the water rising rapidly.  Most of the Shanfari residents had time just to climb to the bedroom on the first floor.  The water rose rapidlly, throwing cars against eh walls.  The walls of the complex smashed open.  Dr. narain was outside and manage4d to reach his family after smashing a window.  Mini, the Wasti's maid called her employers to warn them not to try to come home.  She climbed the rood and waited through the night.  Most of the residents have lost almost everything except their lives.  They watched their possessions float away.
