NP Rank:
Google stays ahead on Search Lead
Google maintains its lead in the Internet search market, and has
recently been winning more of the market share, away from competitors
Yahoo and Microsoft, based on the latest data.
ComScore
Networks, the Internet traffic monitor, issued a research report Monday
that about 60.3 percent of all Internet searches in February were made
using Google, up about 0.3 percent from January. Google, according to
Bear Stearns analyst Robert Peck, got most of its new market share from
customers of the Yahoo and MSN search engines.
ComScore adds
that Google's growth in search queries in February was more than the
overall market. The overall number of search queries grew by 32 percent
but at Google, there was 60 percent more Internet search sessions in
February than when compared to the same period a year ago.
