Local peace activists are planning to
march on MP Betty Hinton's office at noon tomorrow to present the
Conservative MP with a petition concerning the Middle East.

The petition urges Hinton
to encourage Prime Minister Stephen Harper "to actively work to bring
about an immediate end to the violence in the Middle East," according
to a press release.

Harper has withstood
pressure to alter his stance on the conflict between Israel and
Lebanon, calling Israel's attack on the Middle Eastern country a
"measured response."
