I'd love to buy a haunted lighthouse, wouldn't you?  The U.S. General Services Administration is offering Penfield Lighthouse, which was built in 1874 and is believed to be haunted for just a dollar. The property is surrounded by Fairfield Beach off of Long Island Sound. Legend has it that the lighthouse keeper Frederick Jordan drowned in 1916 and since then many people have reported seeing Jordan's ghost.  In the strangest tale, two boys reported being rescued by a man that looked like Jordan after their boat capsized.
For sale: $1 property surrounded by Long Island Sound off the coast of Fairfield. Must be able to cope with possible haunting.

Ha ha Victoria... c'mom, I'm sure you of all people can afford the $1 price tag on it. I do wonder if it's being sold 'cos it's haunted or for other reasons. Well, perhaps, considering the good-hearted nature of the ghost that dwells within, buying may not be a bad idea afterall. Thank you for putting the sunny side of things on NP. Good ghost, good stuff!
