HBO has acquired the rights to turn George R.R. Martin's best-selling fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire into a dramatic series.

I've been reading this series and really enjoy it. But it is going to be very hard to do it justice on the screen, Martin's universe is quite complex, not to mention really violent and in some cases X-rated. And like he says: "My books are bigger and more complicated [than Tolkien's], and would require 18 movies. Otherwise, you'd have to choose one or two characters."
