Today I became aware of the growing movement for a Bald and Beautiful Barbie to give young girls (battling cancer, alopecia, trichotillomania and other ailments which cause hair loss) a doll who represents them. Or perhaps the doll could be used by mothers or other family members as a tool to help explain to little ones what someone they know may be or will be going through.
What touched me was the overwhelming outpour in support of this type of doll! The more I thought about it and watched the support grow, the more I want this as part of our 'norm'. Society should encourage acceptance of dolls with differences!
