The 400 Calorie Fix Diet Debuts on the Rachel Ray Show
The 400 calorie fix diet is set to be the next big craze in dieting, as it's set to debut on the Rachel Ray Show today with a woman who apparently lost six pounds in two days on the 400 calorie fix diet.
Despite what the title may seem like , it is not a 400 calorie a day diet, but a 400 calorie per meal diet, with four meals a day, and therefore a total of 1,600 calories a day. It is all about knowing the calorie count of everything you put in your mouth, and portion control.
However, you must also exercise while on the 400 calorie fix diet.
Your body apparently burns about 2,100 calories a day, so by consuming just 1,600 you will automatically lose weight. While the key is portion control, the challenging part behind this diet is taking note of everything that you eat and drink as a glass of milk will count towards your 400 calorie meal allowance.
The average meal however is usually around 800 calories so cutting a meal in half might be a difficult thing to adjust to.
Some tips to achieving a 400 calorie meal include:
Cook your dishes at home! That's right - curl up beside that monitor and surf to a few healthy eating recipe websites. Pick out one or two that you like, and give it a shot! You get to experiment, have fun cooking, save a little money, AND avoid an extra inch! Think LIGHT. Your average cream-filled dish or drink probably has way more calories than you expect. Try to lighten up on the dairy, and you'll likely save yourself a third of the caloric total.

A cardiologist at U.C. Davis rehabilitation center told me once that the calculation is simple. You have to use 3,500 calories to lose one pound of fat. Whether you exercise or not, deficit daily calories will result in weight loss. I had a back problem and was in bed for a while and lost ten pounds doing nothing, and that was the doctor's explanation. I am not saying exercise is not important because it certainly is, and you can lose more weight in shorter amount of time by exercising because you are using more calories.
I agree here cooking your own food is really important for long term adherence to any food regime.
