AIDS Community Asks For $126 Million Emergency Appropriation

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services - Poor economy and increased HIV testing efforts leads to unprecedented growth and severe funding shortages for AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)

The AIDS community is asking President Obama and Congress for $126 million in emergency appropriation to help with the unprecedented growth in waiting lists, cuts in eligibility and drugs being removed from their formulary.

As of March 25, 2010 there are 777 individuals on ADAPs waiting lists. North Carolina with 270 individuals is the State worst hit.
