All-Clad 4-square Waffle Maker May Be Electrifying

You may get more than you bargain for when making Belgian waffles with the 4-Square Belgian Waffle Maker.  The Canadian government has issued a recall notice for these appliances due to a shock hazard.  The wiring inside the appliance may become exposed.
There have been 23 reports outside of Canada of sparks emitting from the waffle makers, but none within Canada.
787 of these units were sold in Canada between March '08 and January '09.
Solution:  Stop using the unit immediately and contact All-Clad to obtain a free replacement.

This recall involves All-Clad 4-square Belgian waffle makers, which are electric and have a stainless steel exterior. The recalled product can be identified by reference number WD700462 and a 4-digit manufacture date code that ends in "08". The reference number and date code can be found on a white label on the bottom of the waffle maker.
