Two baby orangutans and a lion cub have fallen ill after consuming Chinese Sanlu milk contaminated with melamine.  After hearing about the mik scandal which has killed 4 Chinese babies and sickened over 53,000 more, zoo keepers immediately examined the animals and discovered that 3 of them did indeed have kidney stones.

The animals, at Hangzhou Zoo near Shanghai, developed kidney stones after being fed milk powder tainted with the industrial chemical melamine.

Chinese media report that the animals had been fed on milk powder made by Sanlu Group for more than a year.
