Ariel Winter's Father Files Objection to Guardianship Petition
After allegations continued to pound the headlines, more details have emerged regarding Ariel Winter'spersonal life.
One day before a hearing in the case was scheduled to convene, the young actress's father filed an objection to a petition that would strip his estranged wife, Chrisoula (Crystal) Workman, of custody of the 14-year-old.
In the documents, Glenn Workman states , "I am physically, emotionally, and financially capable of caring for my daughter, without limitation. No evidence has been produced that suggests any detriment to Ariel associated with my father-daughter relationship with her."
Insisting that money has nothing to do with his decision , Glenn continues, "I am a frugal and modest person with a moderate income who doesn't need Ariel's income to survive ... I believe Ariel has demonstrated a lot of maturity and is at an age now that she should have more control over her finances."
Winter's father also refers to her "strained" relationship with her mother, Chrisoula (Crystal), contending that the situation should not speak for his own relationship with his daughter. "We enjoy going on long walks together ... and I love to listen to her talk to me ... I find her to be very interesting," he says.
Workman closed by writing, "I ask this court to allow me the chance to function as a healthy parent and help Ariel through this ordeal."
Trying her best to carry on a daily routine, Ariel Winter went shopping at the farmers' market in Studio City, CA on Sunday (November 11).
Joined by her sister and her current guardian, Shanelle Gray, the "Modern Family" actress hid under a ball cap as she attempted to get past the mob of shutterbugs waiting for her outside the produce stands.
The afternoon outing came just days after Ariel was removed from her mother's home after abuse allegations surfaced.
Workman denies any of the claims, telling Celebuzz, "I love my daughter very much. I would never abuse her in anyway and I have always tried my best to always protect her and do what is right for her."
However, at this time, law enforcement officials have confirmed to TMZ that the Sheriff's special Victims' Bureau is currently investigating the allegations.
