Family reunited with Baby Jenny who was saved after a devastating earthquake in Haiti in January, 2010. Baby Jenny was reunited with parents yesterday, after doctors in a Florida hospital helped to save her life. At two months old she was pulled from the rubble and a doctor from the US treated her and got her on a plane to Florida. There, she was treated for several injuries including a collapsed chest. Monday, she was sent home to Haiti to be reunited with her parents. DNA confirmed that her parents were alive and well in Haiti after the earthquake. Another child, three-month-old Landina Seignon was found with such severe head injuries, doctor's thought she would die but through agressive treatment she was saved.
Family reunited with baby pulled from Haiti rubble in January. A Haitian baby rescued from the rubble after January's devastating earthquake and transported to a Florida hospital has been reunited with her parents. Baby Jenny and her mother were separated when the earthquake struck Haiti. Several days later, Jenny was pulled from the debris and taken to the U.S. for treatment. The infant had arm and head injuries and a collapsed chest. Bob Martinez, an attorney for the child's parents, says the couple learned their baby had been rescued and began searching for her. A DNA test of Jenny and her mother came back with a positive match. The lawyer and the state Department of Children and Families say the family was reunited Monday. They will hold a news conference later in the day.
