Bikini wax ban overturned in New Jersey

New Jersey wanted to ban bikini waxes, but today that decision has been overturned due to beauty salon owners insisting the procedure is safe. The ban was considered when two women had to be admitted to hospital with infections after having the procedure done; one woman filed a lawsuit.
However, salon owners have complained about lack of business and the decision has been overturned.
Bikini waxing is a popular procedure, especially in the lead up to swimsuit season.
"Many commenters have noted that the procedure can be safely performed. I, therefore, believe that there are alternate means to address any public health issues identified by the board," Mr Szuchman wrote.
Bikini waxing is when the hair is removed with hot wax below the belly button. It can be painful, but infections are rare if proper procedure is followed.

Oh for goodness sakes!
I've been having Brazilian waxes for years. A person just needs to be extra careful about personal hygiene afterward. (As if it's not important all the time!) I can see infections happening if hygiene is lacking and I think that is probably what the case might have been here.
I've used several salons both here and Australia, and not one time has the person doing the waxing failed to explain in detail before I left, how to care for the vaginal area in particular.
Personally, I use a little antibiotic cream for a couple of days after my shower - just in case there are any little bugs left there after waxing.
I doubt that the salon is at fault here - some people just have bad hygiene practices.
As far as it being banned?
Gimme a break!

A stripper friend told me she used deodorant because it is antiseptic. It kept her from getting bumps.
Or was that TMI? Prolly TMI...

It would save a lot of pain and money if people recognized their pubic hair as a sign of sexual maturity. What does it really say about a society that requires women to look as hairless as children?

There's a LOT more to a woman than a little patch of hair! Thank you!

I have no idea why this bann was repealed, as a Canadian I can tell you the USA has so few liberties, and so many silly overused laws, that I am shocked this is repealed. I am waiting for your government to imporison you by default when you turn 18 and you have to prove worthy to be set free.
