NP Rank:
Bill C-51 and the Canadian Government Propaganda Machine
This week I happened to notice that the infamous Bill C-51 is back and reworked as Bill C-6. This has produced a swarm of activity in the blogosphere and rekindled the movement to abolish this act. For those of you who have not heard or have read about it, visit http://www2.parl.gc.ca/HousePublications/Publication.aspx?DocId=3398126. Shortly after posting my review, I was slammed by someone by the name Ex-Drone, you can read the comments on the post as well, who I must admit had a very thorough knowledge of Bill C-51 and was very supportive of it. I followed the referral link arriving at http://www.ottawaskeptics.org/. After the cyberlashing I received, I was compelled to visit their site and came across a wealth of information supporting the government agenda to over regulate anything non-pharmaceutical.

These articles are labeled as the "credible resources" for information on Bill C-51. After reading through, it is obvious that for all the anti C-51 bashing they do, they are strong proponents of this bill.
Ottawa Skeptics are hell bent on discrediting the website Stop C-51 and anyone who attempts to identify C-51 as heavy handed government intervention. In defense of Ottawa Skeptics, Stop C-51 should have made themselves public as a supplement maker, not masquerading as the torch bearer of civil liberty. In my opinion they have lost all credibility and I should have done my own research before quoting them in my previous post.
This week while doing site maintenance, I was alarmed to see that the Government of Canada had paid a visit to the site which lasted for approximately 33 minutes, by far the longest visit I have noted since the blogs inception. This happened to coincide with the increase of information circulating regarding C-6. Is the government using the internet to monitor opposition to this bill? You can bet on it. The government accessed the blog through a simple Goggle Blogsearch for C-51. I retraced their steps and arrived at my own blog. What was of particular interest to me was who had accessed the blog post from the Government of Canada ip address.

Good old Ottawa Skeptics, the same site that roasted me. Is the government using an outside agency to further their agenda much like they accused Stop C-51 of doing? You be the judge.
