The Bill HR 2749 Is The Bill That Broke The American People Back!
This Bill Is Food Martial Law. It Gives The FDA Total Power Over All Food
(Animal, Mineral, Vegetable) In The United States Of America:
HR 2749 would give FDA the power to order a quarantine of a geographic area, including “prohibiting or restricting the movement of food or of any vehicle being used or that has been used to transport or hold such food within the geographic area.” [This - "that has been used to transport or hold such food" - would mean all cars that have ever brought groceries home so this means ALL TRANSPORTATION can be shut down under this. This is using food as a cover for martial law.] Under this provision, farmers markets and local food sources could be shut down, even if they are not the source of the contamination. The agency can halt all movement of all food in a geographic area. [This is also a means of total control over the population under the cover of food Safety, and at any time.] But, For A Reasonable Amount Of Time... ( Determined By The FDA )
This Could Mean One Day Or One Year... This Could Be The Beginning Of

HR 2749 charges the Secretary of Health and Human Services with establishing a tracing system for food. Each “person who produces, manufactures, processes, packs, transports, or holds such food” [Is this not every home in the US?] would have to “maintain the full pedigree of the origin and previous distribution history of the food,” and “establish and maintain a system for tracing the food that is inter-operable with the systems established and maintained by other such persons.” The bill does not explain how far the trace back will extend or how it will be done for multi-ingredient foods. With all these ambiguities, [with all these ambiguities, it is dangerous, period, separate from the money] it’s far from clear how much it will cost either the farmers or the taxpayers. [It is massive and absurd and burdensome beyond the capacity of people to comply - is this not fascism? - so it is a set up for being used to impose penalties endlessly and/or to eliminate anyone at will.] Growing Your Own Garden, Raising Your Own Live Stock For Food Could Get You Imprisoned And Or Fined.. Holy Moly Sandra don't pop a gasket! You are right except for the things you decided to leave out of yer comments, behold: Quarantine of Geographic Location-
`(1) AUTHORITY TO QUARANTINE- If the Secretary determines that there is credible evidence or information that an article of food presents a threat of serious adverse health consequences or death to humans or animals, the Secretary may quarantine any geographic area within the United States where the Secretary reasonably believes such food is located or from which such food originated. The authority to quarantine includes prohibiting or restricting the movement of food or of any vehicle being used or that has been used to transport or hold such food within the geographic area.
`(2) NOTIFICATION PROCEDURES- Before any quarantine action is taken in any State under this subsection, the Secretary shall notify an appropriate official of the State affected and shall issue a public announcement of--
`(A) the Secretary's findings that support the quarantine action;
`(B) the area affected by the intended quarantine action;
`(C) the reasons for the intended quarantine action; and
`(D) where practicable, an estimate of the anticipated duration of the quarantine.

Maybe I stand corrected! I do see where they, I guess, seem to strike the part that protects us which leaves the part where.....................????? SEC. 132. ADMINISTRATIVE DETENTION.
(a) Amendments- Section 304(h) (21 U.S.C. 334(h)) is amended--
(1) in paragraph (1)(A), by striking `credible evidence or information indicating' and inserting `reason to believe';
(2) in paragraph (1)(A), by striking `presents a threat of serious adverse health consequences or death to humans or animals' and inserting `is adulterated, misbranded, or otherwise in violation of this Act';
(3) in paragraph (2), by striking `30' and inserting `60';
(4) in paragraph (3), by striking the third sentence; and
(5) in paragraph (4)(A) by striking the terms `five' and `five-day' and inserting `fifteen' and `fifteen-day', respectively.
(b) Regulations- The Secretary shall issue regulations or guidance to implement the amendments made by this section.
(c) Effective Date- The amendments made by this section shall take effect 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.

I could not believe what I just read. But, you are right considering the facts:
1. the Government has always abused it's powers over the people. there was always and alternative for it's misuse.
2. the Patriot Act is a prime Example.

This is only true assuming that they want martial law, and want to take over. Otherwise, it is just some dry facts, in case something goes wrong with food, etc. (yawn)-- I read Naomi Wolf, and she swore over and over that the Patriot Act would be abused, that W Bush would refuse to leave office, that the '08 elections would be cancelled, that terrorist acts would be faked. She is Harvard educated, and insisted Bush was the new Hitler. None of it happened, and I am expecting the same flat outcome here.

I think the really worry here is that they will begin to monitor small organic markets, etc. , and force those out of business with their regulations and expenses. That is the true thing to fear, the rest is hyped up ( at least in regard to Obama now; if some extreme situation were to take hold.... but we shall see anon. . . )
