So I'm enjoying the weekend listening to Ryan Bingham's "Bread and Water" - a musician I had not heard of and a song I did not know until a friend emailed me the song, and suddenly I felt the need to create a new bread sensation.
I toasted Italian bread, sopped it with my special herb flavored butter, toasted it some more, then topped it with scrambled-up eggs with more herbs (can't remember what herbs - herbs of Provence mixture?) I may have had a few beers prior to cooking. Cooked until the scrambled eggs were cooked.
Well, it was OK and tasty and toasty, but not a new sensation.
But, the music was great. Ryan Bingham reminds me of Jonny Lang. When I first heard them both I was thinking I was listening to an old black guy, probably pretty heavy. Wrong. Both turned out to be young skinny white kids channeling some of the old blues greats that sang just for the hellovit and the need to sing on porches and small bars.
Maybe I should have gone with the old standby french toast or fried egg sammich.
