The charity Breast Cancer Care is looking for more walkers for its Ribbon Walk which takes place during May and June.

There are four walks this year:

• Blenheim Palace and Cotswold Ribbon Walk - May 30
• Scone Palace and Perthshire Ribbon Walk - June 13
• Harewood House and West Yorkshire Ribbon Walk - June 20
• Petworth House & South Downs Ribbon Walk - June 27

The charity hopes that the Ribbon Walk will raise over £1 million this year ensuring that they can support the 46,000 people who are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year.

Each walk starts and finishes in the grounds of a magnificent stately home.

The money raised from the Ribbon Walk enables Breast Cancer Care to fund essential services such as the helpline, website, discussion forums, courses and one-to-one support sessions, all of which mean that no one need feel alone or unsupported when going through breast cancer.  Participants are asked to raise £250, with a £30 entrance fee.

Model Penny Lancaster Stewart will be leading walkers on the first of the series at Blenheim Palace.  She says: “I am so delighted to be taking part in the 2009 Breast Cancer Care Ribbon Walk. The more of you that take part, the more money we’ll raise to help people affected by breast cancer.  The route is absolutely stunning and it will be such a fun day!”
