The CFIA has issued a recall notice for Novelty Watch with Butterfly Charms The charms on the watchband contain lead in excess of the allowable limit.

This recall involves children's novelty watches with butterfly charms as part of the watch band. The product was sold under the brand "Novelty Watches" and can be identified by sku numbers 908568 and 899384, or by UPC codes 0305 0621 6230 and 0305 0622 8455.

Over 4 000 of these watches were sold in Canada between November 2007 and December 2008. The retailer for these watches is The Bargain! Shop Holdings Inc. of Mississauga, On.
Lead is a neurotoxin which damages brains and nervous systems. Children are particularly vulnerable to damage from lead.
