Lavender is a noble plant of many practical qualities.
Evergreen foliage, blooms and deep calming, yet refreshing fragrance are the most obvious ones. But there is more; its leaves, flowers and essential oils have been used to flavor stocks, cakes, jellies, meats and tea. Placed in the windows, it is believed to deter scorpions from entering homes. It is also used in packing some produce, such as figs, because of its effectiveness in keeping weevils away.
For centuries, dry Lavender sachets have been placed in closets and draweres to make its contents smell great and keep moths away. It has also been a medicinal remedy for poor appetitie, indigestion, dundruff and bruises.
Lavender is very easy to grow; so, visit local nursery and acquire your own Lavender plant!

My sister has a long row of lavender growing in her yard and whenever I go to visit, I want to throw myself in it because it smells so good. But, I don't lay down in her lavender for a few reasons. First, it's pinchy and I would get scratched up. Second, because my sister would smack me! She loves her lavender plants...
