California Medicaid Recipients Lose Denti Cal

Adult California Medicaid recipients have found themselves without dental coverage. Known as Denti Cal, it has been cut completely for adults over 19 in July.

Tightening like that was expected due to financial crisis looming over California state government.

What are Californians on Medicaid doing now? What alternatives do they have when visiting a dentist?

Californians have always been innovative. However, the Medicaid recipients were accustomed of having all their dental services paid for in full by the government. Now, it may be a difficult step for them to adjust. They, like most other Californians will have to step out into the free market and find the best dental services at the best prices on their own.

For the first time Medicaid recipients may need to weigh their medical and dental needs against their limited personal finances and make decisions on their own.
