Turns out Vancouver's countless Lulu Lemon lovers aren't wearing all that bum-enhancing workout gear for show--Vancouver really is the healthiest city in Canada, according to Best Health Magazine.

Vancouver always seems to be a favourite in these rankings. Anyone care to contest the results?

To determine Canada’s healthiest cities, Best Health compared two municipalities in each province—for a total of 20—using exhaustive data from the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), Statistics Canada, Environment Canada and others. (See our chart, criteria and expert data sources.) We went beyond the typical mortality stats to measure the comprehensiveness of smoking bans, the availability of OB/GYNs and mammography, and other issues uniquely important to Canadian women.
And the winners are:

1. Vancouver
2. Victoria
3. Calgary
4. Edmonton
5. Ottawa
6. Quebec
7. Halifax
8. Saskatoon
9. Summerside
10. Toronto

We were on a whale-watching tour out of Victoria (and not having much luck) when this photogenic sailboat came past. Got this good picture and some others - but no whales on that day.

Just a stroll in Edmonton's countless and amazing park areas, in early spring. Awesome sight, changing sun and light.

This picture was taken on the morning of March 3rd when Ottawa was hit with an approximate 50 cm of snow (I think, *at least*). I was out every hour on the hour to shovel the driveway or else I would have never been able to keep up with the snowfall. Worse yet was that I was running out of places to which I would shovel because the mountain on the left hand side of the photo was simply too high and I ran out of steam at around hour 6. As much as I love this beautiful City, it's winters such as this past one that push me toward warmer climates...

I took this photo while on a Choir Tour in Ottawa. It was a very beautiful night and the view was splendid.

I was standing on a slight rise looking toward the creek, hard to believe that this is in a city of a million people.

The Bell Tower on Parliament Hill, in Ottawa - Canada's capital city - allows a great view of the city as well as being a great view for photographers of any standing. Doing a cross-country tour? A stop in Ottawa is a must! Whether you're a Senators fan, a polticial-enthusiast or want to experience a one-of-a-kind Canada Day; Ottawa has something for everyone!

Lots of red squirrels in our beautiful river valley. They will exchange a good photo opportunity for a peanut.
