"They" say eating fish is good for you! According to the folks at the Centers for Disease Control, that's not always the case.

According to the most recent edition of the CDC's weekly Morbidity and Mortality Report, six of seven sexually-active persons diagnosed with Ciguatera fish poisoning complained of painful intercourse.

In addition to causing the troubling symptoms noted above, CFP can cause gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps or diarrhea) within a few hours of eating contaminated fish, according to the report.

CFP can also produce neurologic symptoms, with or without gastrointestinal disturbance. The list of symptoms can include fatigue, muscle pain, itching, tingling and, most characteristically, reversal of hot and cold sensation.
