Her rumored boyfriend Derek Hough is said to be at her side.

She has pulled out of all work commitments for the rest of the week and is expected to make a full recovery.

Malaria is not considered life-threatening for those who have access to treatment but thousands of people and some reports say more, die from malaria in Africa every year due to lack of access to proper medical supplies.

Malaria is caused by the parasite plasmodium, which is transmitted in the bites of mosquitoes that are infected with the disease.

Cole split from husband Ashley Cole earlier this year.
