Child Abuse and Regression...

Child abuse and regression Child abuse and regression

When confronted with cases of child abuse, regression can be a vital and amazing tool because it encourages recall of certain childhood memories, events and traumas which can be dealt with whilst under hypnosis. Once the client has been able to bring about ease of access to these events, scenes and situations, they can begin to work on removing any emotional tie connected to them and begin to understand them in a new light.

This ability to recall events under hypnosis, depends on the person the therapist is working with and it is vital that false memory syndrome is avoided, in which false and imagined ideas can be suggested or implanted.

The therapist has to be aware that bringing up that in examining the origins and causes of events my bring other issues up to the surface which must also be dealt and healed through therapy.  Furthermore, clients my feel that they want to protect themselves before they go in to hypnosis so the client my take them in to a safe place where at any point during the regression they can go when they feel the need to or have an imagined weapon to protect themselves. I personally recommend the former on most if not all situations when going under regression.
