ALERT swine flu 1 swine flu case leads to nearly 350 quarantines in Hong Kong

Twenty-five Canadian students that arrived in Changchun, China on Sunday have been placed in quarantine amidst fears of the H1N1 flu outbreak.

Their temperatures were taken at the airport, and although none of them showed symptoms, they have been placed in seven day isolation at a nearby University as a precaution.

MONTREAL - Twenty five Universite de Montreal students of Mandarin and their teacher have been placed under quarantine in northern China for seven days as a precaution against swine flu.
This follows the quarantine of a group of 274 tourists in the Wanchia district of Hong Kong, after a Mexican guest in the Metro Park Hotel tested positive for H1N1 flu on Friday.

According to Agence France Presse, the Canadian foreign ministry has asked China for clarification on this quarantine; and about another group of Canadians elsewhere.

Why are they only doing this to these students? Were they in Mexico prior to this? Are they isolating other tourists etc from countries that have suspected H1N1 virus? There has to be more to this story, the students aren't sick yet they are being isolated - odd!
