Shandong Sickness Censored?

There were reports coming out of Wendeng City, in Shandong Province southeast of Beijing, of an unknown illness that has killed at least three and hospitalised others.  The deaths went unreported for weeks and information is scarce.

A man, and two of his friends, who were stricken with this affliction died within days of each other and the symptoms were horrific.  "His entire body turned dark purple, and he bled from his mouth, nostrils, ears and eyes just as he died."

Sound of Hope Radio interviewed villagers and medical authorities with conflicting results.  There were three separate online reports quantifying this outbreak, two have disappeared from the 'net.  I had postponed writing an article on this event waiting for more data and information; however, since the original sources were missing this morning I thought it best to report this story as is before all the sources were deleted by the "One World, One Dream" Olympic committee of China.

Caoimhin1, the symptoms described here are very similar to "Purple Death", or Bird-flu. Let us hope this is not the case. Here is a link (FYI) to "Purple Death": http://www.birdflubook.com/a.php?id=3

Thank you for the flag and the link Rhonda!  Bird flu is well known in China...why would they say this is an unknown disease?

You are very welcome, Caoimhin1! My first guess would be to prevent a "scare". Everyone knows the potential outcome for "Purple Death". My second, the negative effect this could have on the Olympic games being held in China.

Especially Rhonda if this was a mutated version of the Bird Flu!

There is an article in the Epoch Times about this:

In mid-July, sources in mainland China reported that approximately 20 days ago, a man suddenly died from an unidentified disease in Wanjiakou Village, Xiaoguan Town, Wendeng City, Shandong Province. His entire body turned dark purple, and he bled from his mouth, nostrils, ears, and eyes just as he died.

Thanks Vinny!  That Epoch Times article is the only one left on the 'Net...two others vanished over night.....

It will be interesting to see if this one vanishes!

P.S just realized my highlight is the same source you have already linked to and not a new one!

From the sounds of it, these unfortunate gentlemen were probably poisoned with something rather specatcular.

Best Wishes,

Caoimhin1, I like this story. It's good stuff.  I've learned something horrific about bird flu.  I agree with those who say that factory farms are cesspits.  I have one next to my farm and the smell emanating from it on a summer day is enough to gag a dog.  As long as people look to price for eggs and meat rather than quality, these disease breeders will stay in business.
