City of Livonia Housing Commission Section 8 Application and FAQ

City of Livonia's Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) waiting list opened today online at 9:00 a.m., on Monday, February 22, 2010. The Housing Commission Section 8 application is only available online on City of Livonia website, so no paper application will be distributed.

Applicants do not need to be in City of Livonia to apply, because the Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is to be completed online. Livonia Housing Commission and the City Hall do not provide computer access, so applicants need to find their own computer.

The Housing Commission will limit internet applications to 1,500:

A waiting list will be established for the applications received utilizing a “lottery”. This is not a first received first served process! Once 1,500 applications have been received the waiting list will close and you will not be permitted to complete an application. Once the lottery is complete each application will be randomly assigned a number, the applications will be placed on a waiting list in order of the assigned numbers and according to Housing Commission preferences.

i have been trying to get on the section 8 web site to apply since 12:59 sunday and 9:00 a.m. monday to no avail the site wasn't open and no one can tell me it was . What kind of joke was this to people.

Thath is true because i did the same thing and i could not get through is this some kind of joke everytime i tried to do it it was saying some bull crap

I agree, Ive been on since 9am i even filled out the app but the computer knocked me off b4 i could submit it.... This was totally a JOKE!!!!!

Your site will not come up with the section 8 application that Liv. Housing Commssion has stated was available. Ive started at 12 noon on Monday Feb 22, 2010 opening day of acceptance of application. I am a Disable, with one child whom is disable also seeking to obtain the section 8 voucher. please contact me

It was hard and it took FOREVER...but finally my app went through, the website was overloaded with so many people tryingto apply and thats why you were getting booted off, I hope you were finally able to get it submitted, i am thankful I was! Anybody have any info on when we should be hearing about placement on their lottory system? God bless

I checked last week and both I and a friend of mine are on the list with numbers. Now it is just about finding out how long it will take for our applications to get pulled...
