Daniel Radcliffe Reveals Past Drinking Problem in GQ
Trying his best to put his hard-partying ways behind him, Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that his drinking days are over.
In the August issue of GQ, the 21-year-old "Harry Potter" star says he bid farewell to booze after finding himself too accustomed to using it.
"I became so reliant on (alcohol) to enjoy stuff. There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me."
Radcliffe also explained that drinking in moderation was a challenge, as he told the magazine, "As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time -- that doesn't work for me. I do that very unsuccessfully."
"I'd just rather sit at home and read, or go out to dinner with someone, or talk to someone I love, or talk to somebody that makes me laugh."
Unlike many of his Tinseltown peers, Daniel says he was lucky that the always-present paparazzi never caught him during an alcohol-infused night. "I really got away with that because there were many instances when a shot like that could have been taken," he admits.
Radcliffe officially said goodbye to the bottle around the time he shot the final installment of "Harry Potter" last summer.
That movie, "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part II", hits theaters on July 15th.
