Now I am fully aware of the fact that I am about to open up Pandora’s Box; some of your will shrug with disdain with regards to the stance I am about to take while others will tug at their cheap $5 weaves as they stare at the computer screen in disbelief & horror; so I’m going to make this quick and painless, I support Same-Sex marriage as a matter of Civil Liberties and this is how I come to this conclusion…
My Christian faith puts me at odds with the idea of Same-Sex marriages in Churches but as a believer in the separation of Church & State, I find myself grappling with the fundamental idea of Constitutional Rights and Civil Liberties; thus, it is this same Christian faith and belief in the separation Church & State that implores me to support Same-Sex marriage as a matter of Civil Rights and moral commitment to equality.
The injustices woven into the fabric of our diverse pasts as Christians, Native Americans, Mexicans, Blacks, Women and so forth echo through the passage of time; Religious persecutions, Race based discrimination and gender inequality forced destinies to collide as those that came before struggled to breakdown the many barriers that held us hostage; many sacrificed their lives for something they felt was greater than themselves, adopting a morally binding understanding & commitment to the fundamental belief that we are all created Equal.
For the LAW to deny Same-Sex marriage sets an uneasy precedent, one that starts to imply that we are created Equal, but some of us are more equal than others. Same flawed ideology that sustained Black oppression; same flawed ideology that says Women can do the same jobs as men do but they can't paid the same.

Injustices can serve one of two outcomes. one they can leave us bitter and fill us with anger and hate for centuries to come. or Two they can teach us and show us what we do not want and how we need to change so this may not be put up on any one else any longer.
Good post.

You're so right, about the conclusion that it implies that some of use are more equal than others.
Good piece.
