Before i continue, i need to discuss something beautiful that happened here the other day. i was here (except with a shirt on - out of respect for the sister) applying to jobs, when my mother's 'favorite sister' came by to give her communion. The sister's driver was also here (she does not drive) and is also a sweet/good friend to mom. You know, i 'denigrate' religions left and right, but the goodwill and kindness was palpable (some might say sickeningly palpable;) .. and for a brief moment, this livingroom was blessed .. So i rail against religions, but sometimes they have their moments .. Too bad this is not on a continuous basis with all religions.. 8|

The link just above is a humorous attack on Christmas .. i really wish i could garner the support of atheists - i believe our sentiments are essentially 'on the same side' of the fence .. i rabidly HATE commercialization / materialists / insane deists (like Paul) twisting something good into something bad. Jesus, for example, called himself the "son of man" NOT the "son of God". It was Paul who created Christianity 'out of the blue' - the first Christian evangelist - the first true Christian (one who deified Jesus). When are we gonna wake up and stop deifying the messenger and pay more attention to the message?
i call on all atheists to support this story/essay because our objectives are one-in-the-same: stop the insane deification of the freaking messenger. You guys go a step further and want to stop deification period. But this is like throwing out the baby with the bathwater - it's essentially counterproductive and in my opinion, wrong. Many many Christians, Muslims, Jews,.. would be on your side if you relaxed your position somewhat. If you allowed for the possibility of God (can you prove God does not exist?), you'd allow many many people to join your cause.
.. i believe i have derived the first scientific proof of God's existence (see WfM) but let's discuss a more common argument surrounding it ..
1. If God existed, we wouldn't have suffering (since God would Care)
2. If God existed, we'd have unequivocal proof
Before i may list out any more, let's deal with these first. 1. We have suffering because we're freaking idiots: we shit and live in the same place - what idiot does this except man? It's our fault we suffer because we created this shithole from paradise .. (As a side note, God Cares but what would we learn if God bailed us out every time someone shit on the dinner-table? (Which is essentially what we do when we: invade another country, exploit cheap labor,..)) 2. We do have many proofs of God's existence: Mozart, Michelangelo, dolphin sonar, human brain, WfM,.. what more do you want? Look up at the stars on a clear moon-less night and try to explain that without God .. Conventional physics? They're all FOS and present nothing reasonable/rational.
Atheists should wake up and realize the burden is on them to provide reasonable evidence God does not exist (not depending on conventional physics) - or - admit the possibility of God .. Essentially they need to show every evidence mentioned above (and more) is wrong and why. Essentially they need to prove it was not God behind Mozart, Michelangelo, dolphin sonar, human brain, and WfM .. Since Mozart and Michelangelo are dead, dolphins and humans were 'created by evolution' (something we cannot verify), let's just state something simpler: atheists, prove WfM is wrong (in every respect), or concede it's right.
i challenge both atheists and deists to prove WfM wrong.
.. the cool thing about WfM, if it's correct, brings us all together: atheists, deists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus,.. in a way never quite done before .. And i say again: what better present for our 'coming of age' (in terms of human civilization)? ^^ 8)

ishambat, Awesome detailed article demanded by the times if only considering delusional coercive Christians who subscribe to original sin, the sacrifice of Christ, and the 'fact' we must all subscribe or go to hell .. as posted on TheAmazingAtheist (one of his vids), my brief current definition of hell is ignorance and so Jesus-deifying-Christians (not all Christians are like this .. i believe the majority of early Christians were not and so Paul had to write all his damned letters) are currently living in hell. but so are many others. this is a self-made hell because one's religion requires certain adherence to certain tenets but notice i use the word religion and not faith .. measured faith in oneself is good, faith in the best of human beings is good, and i believe faith in God is good .. but not one tailor made to your situation nor preferences .. this is patently Wrong .. as you can see, i believe in some absolute concepts of right and wrong (morality), some minimalist version of God, most religions are Wacko, some faith is good,.. for some reason, this reminds me of how petty i was as a child: one time i chastised a teacher for bringing her pet mountain lion to school (i chastised her out of jealousy) to the point of bringing her to tears .. what an Asshole (as a child) .. after i realized my motivation, i apologized to her .. the moral of the story is that most of us (even as adults) do not realize the motivations for most of our actions and criticisms of others. "remove the beam/plank from your own eye.." before criticizing others (or as applied to Muslims - stone yourself before stoning others to death) .. we're so quick to judge (all of us), so quick to dismiss, so quick to push our petty agendas,.. it's Amazing we've gotten this far (in terms of civilization) .. i've made an effort to unify a few atheists with select deists because i believe the majority of our agendas is common: eradicate the mental-disease of human deification. but at the same time i also cannot give up my loyalty to Her .. if God is infinitely powerful/wise, She does not need adoration nor worship; in the minimalist scheme, She simply requires acknowledgment for her work (creation). is that too much to ask?
ps: i've tried to apply this way of thinking to religion (Better Way), Basic Human Rights, values for an enduring civilization,.. (please forgive my pushing of the systems approach) but that perspective attempts to glean the essentials of anything, in the first place, in order to understand it - perhaps by removing things conceptually - to see if it still 'works'. when we arrive at a 'bare bones' version of the system under study, we perhaps have come to an 'ideal minimalist' version .. when we consider the God-human system (the relationship(s) between God and humanity), this boils down to a Very simple design: mutual Respect, mutual Trust, and Love .. my argument that God respects us is very simple: we would not be having this discussion if She didn't. trust follows similarly and so we should accept these gifts and move on .. Christians/Muslims/Jews make the critical mistake of insisting their version of god is best/correct: adding all these traits to god perverting / twisting / contorting Her beyond recognition .. no, i think the atheists are Right or i'm right .. She's a Babe or she doesn't exist; very simple; one or the other..
