Dorel Canada Recalls Hazardous Bassinets

Dorel Distribution Canada is recalling approximately 5 500 bassinets because of a suffocation hazard. These units were sold as Eddie Bauer Soothe and Sway Play Yard. The complete product description follows.

This recall involves the Soothe and Sway Play Yard sold under the brand name "Eddie Bauer". The product is a portable play yard for young children that has a rocking bassinet, built-in changing station, and a mobile with three teddy bears.

The recalled play yards can be identified by the model numbers 05044CFRK, 05044CSNW, or 05044CWPR. Only models manufactured prior to December 31, 2008 are included in this recall.

Different model numbers are affected in the United States.

Dorel Distribution Canada is recalling these play yards in cooperation with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Health Canada.

The US CPSC has received 10 reports of infants rolling to the sides of the bassinet, with no injuries.

Action to Take: Stop using the rocking bassinet portion of the play yard and contact Dorel for further instruction.
